Paper Talk: Fernandes set to stay at Man Utd

Here is a quick roundup of some of the biggest stories making today's back pages, with Bruno Fernandes reportedly set to stay at Manchester United.

Bristol City land Tickle

Bristol City have signed Wigan and former England U21 goalkeeper Sam Tickle on a four-year deal.

Bellamy's Burnley move is off

Latest from Your Site News reporter Vinny O'Connor:

Craig Bellamy's proposed move to Burnley has fallen through.

It is understood that the Championship club have turned their attention to other managerial targets, including Steve Cooper and Rob Edwards.

The Football Association of Wales [FAW] had remained hopeful Bellamy would stay on as Wales boss. The FAW and Bellamy have enjoyed an excellent working relationship, with Bellamy happy in his role as mens senior head coach.

The Nations League begins this autumn, with Wales having earned promotion to League A where they will play Portugal, Denmark and Norway.

And Euro 2028 is now just two years away with Wales hosting several matches, including the opening fixture, which will be played at the 75,000 capacity Principality Stadium in Cardiff, something Bellamy has spoken warmly about leading out Wales at a home tournament.

Earlier this month, responding to questions from Your Site, Bellamy appeared to have closed the door on leaving Wales despite interest from several clubs, including Burnley:

He said: "Wales have given me this opportunity and I'm really grateful for that. I'm fully focused on the next two years and being Welsh manager is unique, full stop."

He added: "To be national team manager - I'm sure plenty of Welsh people and ex-players would give anything to be in this position, and the ones who have been in this position would want to be here again It's an amazing time and I don't want to wish that away. And then to have the opportunity of a home nations tournament and going to the Principality Stadium - I can only imagine what the streets [in Cardiff] would be like leading into it."

City nearing British-record move for Anderson

Manchester City are nearing a deal to sign Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest, according to talkSPORT.

City have already had two bids rejected for the England midfielder, but are edging towards the British record transfer fee that Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis desires.

Liverpool set for Diomande frustration

Liverpool are set for further frustration in their bid to prize Yan Diomande away from RB Leipzig, according to German newspaper Bild.

The Reds initial offer of 87 million was rejected last week and an improved bid in excess of 100m is also unlikely to be enough.

Fiorentina pondering Koleosho move

Latest from Sky in Italy reporter Luca Bendoni:

Fiorentina have been exploring a deal for Burnley winger Luca Koleosho.

The 21-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Espanyol and Paris FC, is considering his options after Burnley's relegation from the Premier League.

Koleosho has three years left to run on his contract at Turf Moor.

Atalanta eye Savona loan move

Atalanta are interested in Nottingham Forest full-back Nicolo Savona, according to Sky in Italy.

The 23-year-old could leave Forest this summer a year after being signed from Juventus.

However, Atalanta are currently only open to pursuing a deal for Savona if Forest allow him to go out on loan.

Brighton interested in Atalanta defender Ahanor

Brighton are interested in signing Atalanta defender Honest Ahanor,  according to Sky in Italy.

It's understood an enquiry has been made about the player's availability but no offer has been put forward at this stage.

A deal for Ahanor will be difficult to do as Atalanta don't want to sell the 18-year-old.

Meanwhile, Sky in Italy are also reporting Brighton are interested in another player from Serie A - Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi.

Chelsea make contact for Lacroix

Chelsea have made an enquiry about signing Crystal Palace centre-back Maxence Lacroix.

Xabi Alonso wants to sign a new centre-back this summer and Lacroix is one of several targets.

Meanwhile, Italian side Como are very interested in signing Chelsea centre-back Trevoh Chalobah.

However, a deal looks difficult for Como to achieve and there are other interested clubs.

Arsenal in contact with Leicester over teenage winger

Arsenal are in club-to-club contact with Leicester for a deal to sign Jeremy Monga.

According to the Athletic, no agreement has yet been reached for the 16-year-old winger.

Some reports add a fee of 10m will be paid for the teenager, who will sign a three-year professional deal with the Gunners and will link up with the first team for pre-season.
