Chelsea will demand 75million for Malo Gusto with Manchester City among the clubs interested in signing the France international, according to the Press Association.

The Blues are not actively looking to sell the defender, who they are understood to consider to be a valued member of the squad, but would be willing to listen to offers if their valuation is met.

Other clubs besides City are understood to be interested in signing Gusto, who moved to Stamford Bridge from Lyon for around 30m in 2023, and the player is open to leaving west London.

Should he move to the Etihad, he could be reunited the with former Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca who is widely expected to be confirmed in the coming days at City as the replacement for Pep Guardiola.

Gusto, who played in Frances 3-0 World Cup win over Iraq on Monday, was one of the early transfer successes of owners BlueCo.

He impressed under Mauricio Pochettino in his first season in England, though his progress stalled the following year under Maresca.

Chelsea have a need to sell players this summer in order to comply with financial regulations, as they prepare to take the hit of failing to qualify for Europe for the second time in four seasons.

Departures are likely to come from the defence where the squad is overstocked.

As well as Gusto, the club have Wesley Fofana, Trevoh Chalobah, Tosin Adarabioyo, Mamadou Sarr, Aaron Anselmino, Levi Colwill, Benoit Badiashile and Josh Acheampong available to incoming manager Xabi Alonso.

A deal is understood to have been agreed for Atalanta right-back Marco Palestra and could be confirmed within the next 24 hours.

The 21-year-old, who has two Italy caps, played 37 times in Serie A last season on loan at Cagliari.

Anderson, who has started both of England's first two games at the 2026 World Cup, has been a primary target for City after an excellent season for Nottingham Forest

The Daily Mail has claimed that a move to the Etihad is progressing and that further talks between the two clubs expected over the next 24 hours.
