Gusto price tag revealed ahead of Palestra arrival

Chelsea will demand 75million for Malo Gusto with Manchester City among the clubs interested in signing the France international, according to the Press Association.

The Blues are not actively looking to sell the defender, who they are understood to consider to be a valued member of the squad, but would be willing to listen to offers if their valuation is met.

Other clubs besides City are understood to be interested in signing Gusto, who moved to Stamford Bridge from Lyon for around 30m in 2023, and the player is open to leaving west London.

Should he move to the Etihad, he could be reunited the with former Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca who is widely expected to be confirmed in the coming days at City as the replacement for Pep Guardiola.

Gusto, who played in Frances 3-0 World Cup win over Iraq on Monday, was one of the early transfer successes of owners BlueCo.

He impressed under Mauricio Pochettino in his first season in England, though his progress stalled the following year under Maresca.

Chelsea have a need to sell players this summer in order to comply with financial regulations, as they prepare to take the hit of failing to qualify for Europe for the second time in four seasons.

Departures are likely to come from the defence where the squad is overstocked.

As well as Gusto, the club have Wesley Fofana, Trevoh Chalobah, Tosin Adarabioyo, Mamadou Sarr, Aaron Anselmino, Levi Colwill, Benoit Badiashile and Josh Acheampong available to incoming manager Xabi Alonso.

A deal is understood to have been agreed for Atalanta right-back Marco Palestra and could be confirmed within the next 24 hours.

The 21-year-old, who has two Italy caps, played 37 times in Serie A last season on loan at Cagliari.

Spurs 'confident' of signing Fernandes

Tottenham are 'increasingly confident' they will sign Mateus Fernandes ahead of Manchester United, says The Times.

Why the optimism?

It's rather straightforward: 'Spurs are willing to pay a bigger transfer fee and believe United might turn their back on a deal if the price gets too high', reports the newspaper.

The West Ham midfielder will reportedly cost 80m.

Hull City are among the clubs interested in Manchester United goalkeeper Radek Vitek, according to the Daily Mail

The 22-year-old shotstopper spent the duration of last season on loan at Bristol City, where the Czech Republic youth international impressed, keeping 12 clean sheets in 41 appearances.

It is reported that Vitek is keen to take up a role as a No 1, away from Old Trafford, with regular first-team football unlikely at United.

Manchester City are edging closer to securing a British record deal to sign Elliot Anderson, according to reports.

Anderson, who has started both of England's first two games at the 2026 World Cup, has been a primary target for City after an excellent season for Nottingham Forest

The Daily Mail has claimed that a move to the Etihad is progressing and that further talks between the two clubs expected over the next 24 hours.

If a deal is to be agreed, it is believed that it will be in excess of the 125m that Liverpool spent to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle last summer.

Latest from Your Site News' Geraint Hughes:

Wales manager Craig Bellamy is in talks with Burnley about becoming their new head coach, although no agreement is in place yet.

The Championship club have long admired Bellamy following his previous role at the club as an assistant to Vincent Kompany, while his two-year tenure as the Wales head coach has earned the 46-year-old a reputation as an up-and-coming coaching talent.

While no agreement is yet in place between Bellamy and Burnley, the FAW remain hopeful Bellamy could stay on as Wales boss.

The FAW & Bellamy have enjoyed an excellent working relationship, with Bellamy happy in his role as mens senior Head Coach.

The former Liverpool and Newcastle forward, though, has often spoken about his desire to be involved "day-to-day" within football management, something more akin to club rather than international management.

While no agreements have been reached, its understood that compensation for early contract release is unlikely to be a sticking point.
